Is there a future Governor in the Room?
Come see the 2010 Republican Gubernatorial Debate
It has been more than 30 years since Oregon elected a Republican to the
Governor’s Office. Does that change in 2010? Come see for yourself as
those running for the job participate in a debate moderated by Oregon’s
own Greg Walden. For those of you who follow the Dorchester straw poll
closely Walden is not running in the race, he is moderating the debate.
Candidates who have accepted invitations to participate include (in
alphabetical order) Allen Alley and Chris Dudley.
In 2008 Allen Alley ran as the Republican candidate for State Treasurer.
He won more votes in Portland’s Multnomah County than any Republican in
history.
Alley’s resume is exceptionally broad and diverse. He co-founded
Pixelworks where he still serves as Chairman of the Board.
He is an active civic leader where he contributes his time and energy to
several organizations. Allen is the past chair of the Oregon Museum of
Science and Industry (OMSI) and a volunteer soccer coach.
Allen has been married to Debbie for 27 years and has three children
ages 23, 20 and 16.
Chris Dudley and his wife Chris, are raising their three children,
Charles, Emma, and Sam in Lake Oswego.
At the age of 16, Chris was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. He is now a
leader in the effort to find a cure.
Following a successful career in the NBA, Chris was a senior vice
president at M Financial and is now a partner in a small financial
company in Oregon. Chris and his family are active members of their
community serving on countless charitable boards and participating in a
wide range of activities.
